I came across Laura just a few weeks back on twitter, when I put out a question about writing copy for my speaking page. Laura actually said she had been a BlogcastFM listener and when I saw what she was up to, I  got her scheduled for an interview right away. I’ve been dying to get a skilled copywriter on as a guest since it was an area that I myself had tons of questions about. Laura packed this interview with some awesome insights:

  • The Biggest Copywriting Mistakes that Bloggers Make
  • The Advantages of Being “Late to the Game” in the Blogosphere
  • Why Research Gets You Paralyzed
  • How to Write A Killer About Page that Injects Your Personality
  • The Keys to Writing Hire Me/Sales Pages  That Convert
  • Where Bloggers Go Wrong with Their Content
  • Why You Need to Read Blogs Outside of Your Niche to Improve Your Content
  • Why You Don’t Necessarily Need a Direction When You First Start Blogging
  • Looking to Your Past for Great Content Ideas

"At least it's not a podcast about podcasts!" Haha... very funny, lbelgray . I do think procrastination is can be disguised as research. I've done it before. I'd spend hours reading and learning and find myself at the end of the day with nothing done. No good!

I loved it when you mentioned Erika from redheadwriting . I came across her blog about a week ago and fell in love with everything she does. Her style is outstanding.

The incest/inbred comment was right on point!

Great interview. I really enjoyed this one.

SeanDavislbelgrayredheadwriting I remember the first time I talked to Laura. I thought to myself, I finally understand what copywriting is. This was one of those interviews I thought was good enough to be a product. I'm aiming to get Erica on the show soon too :).
