We can’t predict how anything will really turn out. I have no idea if you’ll even agree with what I have to say every single time I put my words on the screen and push publish. No point counting Facebook likes, tweets, and every other meaningless metric, when the only thing that really matters is impact.
- You don’t need permission to make an impact.
- You don’t need that many resources to make an impact
- You just need the courage to share something that matters to you with the world
That’s available to all of us today. That’s one of the best ways to use all the technology at your disposal.
Was somebody touched? Were they moved? Did you make a difference? All it takes is one person to be changed by your words. You’ve done your work. You’ve done something that matters. If that person is truly touched, they’ll do the other part for you. They’ll pass it on. My friend Jaimal Yogis has learned this with the launch of his recent book. It’s hit shelves, and it’s selling but here’s how it really spreads.
“I just finished The Fear Project (loved, loved, loved it! recommending it to every person I know) and found this as a result. ” – A reader
A friend tells a friend and so on. You can’t buy that kind of marketing. The best book marketing strategist in the world can’t create that. I had nothing to do with that. I was just a vehicle to share a message. But Jaimal did the one thing that really matters. He wrote an amazing book that made a difference. Create something that people connect with.

This message will never get old, do stuff that matters, make an impact in someones life and you’ll be shared, wanted, asked for. Be strong for that. Love it.
Impact is all that matters, and it’s hard sometimes, because it’s totally out of our hands.
Yeah the hardest thing is to provide content that people can act on and apply, not just get scraped by Google..
Being vulnerable is something tricky to come to grips with, but I’m realizing that complete openness takes the courage to do so
Yes, content is so much more intriguing and compelling when it’s honest and heartfelt. I think we all need to write from the heart rather than write want we think people want to hear.
By the way Srinivas, just wanted to say what an awesome podcast you have. I have been listening for over a year and have gathered so many great ideas for my own business from you and your guests. I love your honesty and integrity
I believe that if you are really in sync with your public, creating content that connects it just a matter of being sincere.
