I want to invite you to participate in a social experiment of sorts. It’s one that I think will help our community move forward together in ways we can’t even imagine yet. When I started blogging, I wrote a post titled 150 followers is all you need.
Some people think that’s nuts, but the post has been shared over 1000 times, so I recommend giving it a read. While my twitter following has grown past 150 since then, I still have a group of 150 or so people that I follow on a daily basis. There’s no way anybody in the right mind could effectively engage 8000 followers.
But here’s the thing about that 150. It continually changes. It evolves, because the people in it grow, the people in it change. and that’s ok. What’s cool however is that there are some people who are still on it, and there are people who join it continually increasing the diversity of inputs into my life and as a result creating what our former BlogcastFM Guest Robert Greene would call a rich ecosystem.
How to Participate in this Experiment:
- Follow or Subscribe to the Small Army List
- Share something from somebody on that list each day
- Say hello to one person on the list that you don’t know
- Connect two people on the list who would benefit from knowing each other
It’s a very simple experiment and participating in it won’t take more than 2 mins each day. The benefits of this won’t be apparent until about two weeks from now.
If you’re not on the small army list, don’t fret. There’s no bottle service, VIP tickets, or anything like that. Just put your twitter handle below in the comments and I’ll add you to the list.
